““‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.”

Our modern society believes we are just reaching the height of human intelligence. If we accept this evolutionary view, what do we do with the biblical account?
I thought about the remarkable fruit we are seeing—testimonies, lives changed, families impacted, churches motivated—when I was in Oxford, England, recently.
Evolutionists love searching for evidence of extraterrestrial life. But even theoretical research into binary star systems isn’t helping their case.

God has given us Hope, we need to take hold of it, believe it, accept it, trust it, and put it on trial.

Look at your life, see if Hope has served you well or not. Did it give you relief and strength.

When you had great Hope in Christ and What He can do, how was it?

Did it bring results, Grace, Mercy, peace, joy, or strength to get you through even the most difficult circumstances.

Did Christ through Hope carry you when you felt you couldn’t go anymore.

Did joy eventually come one morning, did we grow, learn to trust and rely upon God.

Did He make more time for you, or less.

Did He heal your soul and comfort you.

Have you stopped Hoping for you, how about for your Friends? Why?

The Bible says:

““For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to giveyou hopeand a future.” “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will giveyou rest.” Though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.””

The world will let you down sometimes, not may, it assuredly will. Sometimes very difficult, but God will be there. He will give you Hope and Strength to endure and eventually see the other side or accept that it wasn’t meant to be seen.

Don’t free up your world by taking away from God, He is always worth more, He will take care of the world, He has overcome it. One of the first things we do when we are worn out and tired is deprive God of His time.  We might pray less, hope less, or less devotion time, we might smile less, risk our joy, withdraw from relationships, but don’t do it, All our time is God’s. He is the God of Hope.

God says if we don’t give up we reap reward.

Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Hope is certain, take it and believe in it, the object of Hope not the worlds hope but God’s Hope, is always there for the taking. Sometimes we give up on what matters most because we give up not hope but in God’s Hope.

Listen to the Spirit not the flesh. The Spirit believes in Hope, when the going gets hard or confused, the flesh explains it away but the Spirit brings life. The only one that affects you most who can give up hope on you is you. God does not. He has already said “I give you Hope”.  He knows we matter and have a place in this life more than we know we matter.

God gave us the ability to think positive or negative, to be people of strong or weak faith, to see the hour glass half full or half empty, and to be optimistic vs. pessimistic, and to trust the Lord Jesus Christ to be with us. Not suggesting that we are to be unrealistic, however we need to understand we don’t have to see the solution in order for it to come, we don’t have to understand how God does something but trust that He can. When our relationship with the Lord is pure and humble, and we learn to hear His voice especially through His Word, we can better understand His will in our life’s circumstances. We have every reason to have great hope, it is a gift from God.

We cannot tell God how to bless us but we can ask Him to bless us.

God is not limited to our thinking as to how He should bless us, He has countless ways.

He has power and knowledge we cannot begin to understand.

He sees the beginning from the end, knows and sees all in all things.

He knows how to fit the puzzle of life together, knowing all desires and needs.

He works in His time and season, timing is sometimes everything.

We can expect Him to listen to us when we walk with Him.

We can know He wants to bless us and be with us.

He looks not only at this life but eternity and works things according to His will.

He wants you to have peace, hope, love, joy, and faith.

He wants to reward your faith when you diligently seek Him.

He wants you to learn of Him and know Him better and trust Him more.

He is the Great Physician and Great Shepherd, our Advocate and Comforter, the Healer.

We should not be bashful about seeking peace, comfort, healing and restoration.

We should always have HOPE and FAITH in Jesus Christ.

Psalm 147:11 “But the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hopein his steadfast love.”

Isaiah 40:31 “But those who hope in the Lord

will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not be faint.”

Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Sometimes people do not believe in the miraculous blessings of God because He does not always do it in the way we want or how we want or often enough according to our expectations, but that is an hour glass we see as half empty, but we should see it half full! We really should see it as full, meaning just because we don’t see it don’t mean it’s not possible.

God has and will continue to do miraculous things.

Read this from scripture and commit to memory:

Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him,for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

Approach God with great expectation and hope. It is a Gift from our Lord Jesus Christ. Always good to Hope in Him.

When we came to Christ, confessed His Name, repented of sins and turned to God, identified with Him in Baptism, we became new creatures.  Our sins were forgiven and conscious cleansed and we entered into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

We began again, started with a new clean slate, we now have a Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ, and the indwelling Holy Spirit Who lives within us. We became totally New.  The scripture also calls that being Born Again.  When we are born we are New.

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Something in that verse 17 that is missed, is “old things have passed away”.

Old things are worldly things, things that were not right with God, New Things is a changed dedicated life towards living right for Jesus Christ.

We cannot continue to live our way of our old way, we are to grow and do things God’s way.

The statement, and excuse we sometimes use is “well we are human and make mistakes”, that is misleading.

God has called us to be unlike the world and grow to be more Christlike. If we are like we have always been after many years, then something is wrong. Grace changes us not just saves us. Christ’s Love compels us.

If our lives are not indicative of seeking and following Christ, take today and ask forgiveness to God through Jesus Christ and ask Jesus to help you grow in Christ to become New day by day.

Full Context:

14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for all things, and your many blessings.

Grant us Your Grace and Mercy, forgive us everyday through the blood and Love of Jesus.

Help us to be sensitive to Your Spirit and hear Your Voice, and to change and live better for You each day.

In Jesus Name,

We can be part of our and someone’s peace and goodness by the words we speak or we can be destructive by what we say.

Fighting with a sword brings pain, blood, wounds, even death, and can be thought of as hand-to-hand combat. When words are fierce and careless, they too can cause wounds, pain, and hurt. However when words are used wisely, they bring healing.  Wouldn’t we rather bring healing, peace, encouragement than hurt, turmoil, and dissent.  Let’s choose words wisely and also the emotions we use to invoke them. It’s not only what we say but how we say it.

We can disagree and feel passionate about our view, but we can choose words and emotions wisely, and must if we want to succeed and be encouraging.

Proverbs 12:18 “Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”

If we use fewer words when emotions run high, there will likely be more peace than not. A loud voice may be heard but a screaming voice is out of control. Few good words are better than many bad ones.

Choose words wisely and speak wisely and practice such wisdom tomorrow and see how it goes. You will like it and be liked for it.

Do we want God to be gentle with us or harsh, overburdening or fair, shouting or speaking reasonably, antagonistic or peaceful, encouraging or demoralizing? Then why don’t we treat others the way we hope God would treat us.

The early part of Revelation includes a writing to the Church in Ephesus.  In this letter the Church is both complemented and admonished or warned. As with people and Churches there are things done good and things where we are all as Christians growing and learning, no perfect people nor perfect Churches. Regardless though, Christ has called us all to overcome sin and love Him with all our heart. However, in this letter to the Church in Ephesus, they are reminded that God wants all His Churches and people everywhere seeking to be faithful in all areas especially from the heart. The Lord reveals to Ephesus the importance that they always love and follow Him “even as when they first came to know Him”. Our lives inside and at our Churches should be about encouragement, love and peace. People should be uplifted in peace, not quarrelsome, but at unity with others and Jesus Christ. When we do things of good nature we know we remember our first love. Christ is telling us to make sure we don’t grow complacent and that we have the same or better desire for Him as we did when we first met Him.

What would life look like without friends, without those who encourage you, without peace, hope, love and joy, without your pastor or preacher, without coconut pie, family, without Cheerios, Cornflakes, without Chocolate, how about without service to others, certainly all of those things we hope we would miss, but never should we lose our affection and desire for our greatest first love Jesus Christ nor His children nor things of Him. God said do not lose your first love, if we have, He says consider How far you have Fallen, Repent and turn back to Him.

We as Christians need to take care not to take God nor the things of God for granted, but must remember our first love of Christ and how special He is.

Revelation 2:2-3

I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.

They work hard, they stand against wickedness and false doctrine and endure hardships for the cause of Christ.

But the scripture goes further with a rebuke.

Revelation 2:4-5

Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent I will remove your lamp-stand. ( your light in the world and community )

If any consistently take their Christian life, your blessings, your faith, your devotion, some or all for granted on an ongoing basis, God may be telling us we have lost our first love for Him and asks we change and do what we first did with all He gave us, even Christ Himself. Are great things happening in life and we have become blind to see them, seeing only with your eyes not heart, failing to see blessings all around you, return to your first love.

The Lord gives and takes away, don’t lose your lampstand like the Church at Ephesus risked, there is a time and season, don’t miss the greatest things God has sent you, and given you, be it blessings, hope, faith, or other things God has given.

The Christian life should be about personal and spiritual growth, change at a place inside, a place where freedom exists, and encouraged, not hindered, a place of peace not strife, filled with hope and faith, the Christian life and worship should be joyful and hopeful. Focus on Christ not self, others not self, love, words filled with life, praise, worship, a life of service, and encouragement. This should be true inside our hearts, outside in our Churches, at work, Home etc. Everywhere we go we represent Christ and shouldn’t take Him for granted.

Christ said “Do not lose your first love?”

Join us at Cedar Plains Christian Church Falkville, AL where we seek to keep Christ first and make Him the focus of all we do.

Gracious God,

Forgive us and bless us that we love You with all of our heart, mind, and soul. May Your Spirit guide us to renew our love for You.

May we grow closer to You and trust You more each day.

Bless all your people and watch over us, keep us safe, and grant us hope, peace, joy and love.

May we repent and turn to You, and do the things You would have.

We thank You that we can love and choose to do the things of Christ.

Let us not take you or others for granted but cherish every blessing and moment you give us.

In Jesus Name,

Psalm 108 has much to say about our Relationship with the Lord. God has called His people, Christians everywhere, anytime, any conditions, to be steadfast, fixed on Him and His Greatness, focused on doing right to Him and others.

We should make joyful music in our hearts for Him.  We should awaken each day with God in mind. We should acknowledge and praise Him among others. Great is His Name and His Love is even higher than the Heavens. We can ask Him to save us and help us, so that we may be delivered from our sins and shortcomings and be given strength to walk with Him and treat others as we would want to be treated.

Read Psalm 108:1-6 and be blessed.

Psalm 108

My heart, O God, is steadfast;

I will sing and make music with all my soul.

Awake, harp and lyre!

    I will awaken the dawn.

I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;

I will sing of you among the peoples.

For great is your love, higher than the heavens;

your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;

let your glory be over all the earth.

Save us and help us with your right hand,

that those you love may be delivered.

Seek the Lord this day, tell Him and others of His Greatness and Faithfulness. Let Him know you are with Him based on how you treat and encourage others. Let Him know you are grateful for His Salvation and Deliverance.

Show the Lord your love for Him based on how you treat others, at work, home, and Church, and everywhere.

Are you kind and considerate and encouraging, if not, are you disgruntled, quarrelsome, and non-responsive to others. Are you full of hope or gloom and doom. Are you filled with joy or not, love or animosity, do you begrudge others because they are not like you, or do you focus on pleasing God and realize that is enough. Do you shun others and be so foolish to think our Lord and those shunned don’t know. People see us for who we are not who we think we are.

When we are steadfast on Him and lift Him up above ourselves, He will bring blessings. When we are good to all others, He will bless us. Simply stated, when we don’t, we erode away blessings that we otherwise would have enjoyed.

Gracious Lord in Heaven,

Forgive us our sins and shortcomings, grant us your Mercy and Grace. Give us hope and trust and renewed Faith in all we do.

Help us to hold our heads high yet with humble hearts and know we are a Child of the King, the Children of God. Lead us to be good to others and show kindness, love, and compassion to us and others. May we give to others as you have given to us. Let us be steadfast with our eyes and faith on You. Bless our families, friends, and Church families, with your Peace, Joy, Compassion, Strength and Guidance. Teach us Your way and give us Knowledge and Wisdom to live by. Grant us Wisdom, prosperity, generosity, security and great Hope. Let us know You are God and bless us and may we bless others.

Guide us to treat others with respect and kindness so they will know You are God and we make our calling confident and sure by the things we do for You and others.

Scripture indicates God Blesses us greatly but in particular always blesses obedience to Him.

Wisdom Keys can be thought of as things we can do that God will bless when they are done with right motive.

I have just started a series of sermons on Wisdom Keys and have found such Keys are so numerous that it is unquestionable that God wants to bless abundantly.

Examples of Wisdom Keys:

Seek and Find, Ask and it will be Given to You, Knock and the Door will be Opened. Matthew 7:7

Meaning some blessings are for the seeking and asking.

“Blessed are the Merciful for they shall see mercy” (also interpreted blessed are the compassionate for they shall receive compassion, and give mercy receive mercy). Matthew 5:7

Meaning some blessings are reciprocal based on what we do for others.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do and He will establish your plans”.  Proverbs 16:3

Meaning some blessings are based on our commitment to include God in what we do.

“Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers,

and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord.” Proverbs 16:20

Meaning faith and trust can bring blessings.

“Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.” I Peter 3:9

Meaning give up your human right to fight back and let divine wisdom allow you to love others.

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” Malachi 3:10

Meaning you cannot out give God, He even says test Him.

“Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they will be called children of God.” Matthew 5:9

Peace is very important because it establishes a climate or atmosphere that God can work within.

How much does God want to bless us?

Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

Is running over and poured in your lap enough? WOW God knows how to bless us through the good Lord. Running over and poured out is endless.

The sum of it all:

"For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly." Psalm 84:11

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21

Which fruit do we like to speak and eat and receive? Things pertaining to Life I believe we would all say.

Come join us at Cedar Plains Christian Church Falkville, AL to hear the scripture on Wisdom Keys.

These principles and blessings will change our lives for the better.

Perhaps the most detrimental mistake is to lose ones witness and respect by two or three instances of bad behavior towards others which is often the result of things that are not even factual or misunderstood. That is one of my pet peeves with social media, you can control to some extent what you write but not how another understands what you right. People sometimes read out of emotion or hurriedly and totally miss the intent of others.

“Do for others what you want them to do for you: this is the meaning of the Law of Moses and of the teachings of the prophets. (Matthew 7:12)”

It takes many years to establish a solid reputation and build sound relationships and be respected by others, but only 2 or 3 instances or even just minutes to destroy ones witness for Christ and others, that can last months or years. Of course, the other side of that is people need to forgive as well.

We have all heard the phrase “the proof is in the pudding”, I think of that term regarding the Bible view of people when they are tested or challenged with things that are either hard or don’t line up with what they desire. We all as Christians have the challenge to show ourselves and others just who we are when we walk through the fires of life. It’s easy for anyone to serve the Lord when everything is great, but what about when they are not.

What then is our strength, comfort, hope, faith, attitude, demeanor and actions. It’s how we react to those times that truly define us?

Who hasn’t been confused, worried, hurt, stressed, angered, or hopeless, at some times in their life?

Being a minister for many years, I have seen a lot of things. Most disturbing has been when I have seen people’s friendships, families, and even Churches destroyed over things that only six months to a year later people wished they would have reacted differently. Destructive words and actions often stem from things based on gossip, not having facts, misinterpreting or misunderstanding others, or while not often simply meanness. In most all cases people later discount behavior by we are simply human.

Christian’s are human but Christ has called His people to be better than just human, but to be Christlike, Ambassadors for Christ, to grow beyond being like the world.

What does the Bible say?

“If someone has done you wrong, do not repay him with a wrong. Try to do what everyone considers to be good. Do everything possible on your part to live in peace with everybody. (Romans 12:17-18)”

God blesses those people who make peace.

They will be called his children!

(Matthew 5:9)

Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you. And to all these qualities add love, which binds all things together in perfect unity. (Colossians 3:13-14)

John 17:16 “They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.”

Father in Heaven,

Help us to be more like Christ in how we communicate, understand, forgive, and treat others. Protect our witness and relationships from petty things and help us to overcome controversy and be peacemakers, not only because it’s the right thing to do but because it will bring blessings to us all.

As we grow in faith, let us walk by faith not sight, let us walk in love not emotions, nor hurt, confusion or fear.

Teach us to follow and worship You in peace, spirit and truth, through and with Your Spirit.

In Jesus Name,

When God’s people don’t bless one another, one of God’s greatest provisions toward us is missed. We can speak goodness into peoples lives from our prayers and from our words we can bless others. When we don’t, it is detrimental to our faith in that we miss an opportunity to bless someone.

When we speak the Word of God to others, blessings will come.  The following scripture can be spoken over anyone.

Numbers 6:24-26

24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

WOW, what a wonderful blessing written in the scripture in the Torah also called the Books of Moses. Think of it this way:

The Lord bless you, and keep and protect and hold you close to Him. God of the Universe and God of all that was made or being made will keep you. This is not a casual statement but full of promise and power.

The Lord make His face to shine upon you. God’s face who no one on earth has ever seen in all His Glory shines on you. People have seen the face of the Lord Jesus when He walked the earth as both man and God, when Jesus spoke things happened. Jesus the very Light of the World looks upon you with His very presence to illuminate you in His goodness.

And to be gracious to you, God the Father, and the Lord Jesus in His glorified state in Heaven, gives you Grace and Compassion.

The Lord lift you up with His Glory and bring you peace.

And the Lord, lift up His glory and radiant being upon you, and give you peace. Not just any peace but divine indwelling peace that blesses you no matter the circumstances.

Read that blessing recorded in Numbers 6:24-26 and ask God to bless someone with it, even better speak it upon their lives.

Father God,

We thank You for All things and ask You bless us and that we bless others by speaking Words of Goodness and Favor in our lives and those of others. Thank You for Your beautiful Word and the promises in it.

Forgive us our sins, grant us Your Grace and Mercy, as we forgive others; give us Knowledge that we can learn more about You and You in our lives.

Bless and grant hope and peace and compassion to all who have special needs.

Bless us all and may we bless You.

This is Part 1 of 3, things Christian’s cannot do and still expect special Wisdom or blessings from God, other than perhaps Him telling us it’s time to repent. God is in the people business to help, guide, lead, chastise, bless, love and care, and forgive, and teaches people to be the same.

In teaching principles of Wisdom there are something’s people absolutely cannot do and expect God’s blessings. If we seek Wisdom from God, we cannot ignore God nor live against His will.

There are certain things that Christian’s sometimes do that are very detrimental to their Relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, and consequently have devastating effects. Even more concerning, some people do these things more than sometimes, and through self-deception some ignore them. However, to not heed what the Lord has told us is nothing short of very foolish. Here are just a few of those, along with good news when people change. He is an awesome loving and caring God and expects us all in life to do the same.

-Unwillingness to Forgive Others

Matthew 6:14-15

“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

The meaning of this scripture is very clear. “God will not forgive us if we refuse to forgive others”. Such behavior is guaranteed to significantly impact your relationship with God.

-Talking About Others Inappropriately

Ephesians 4:29

“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

I Peter 3:10

”For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.”

Christian’s should “not talk poorly of others”, and certainly should “not run someone down”, we are to “build one another up”, speak positive about people, and be peacemakers and not stir up quarrel, and not degrade lives.

-Manipulation and Scheming

Proverbs 26:20-22

20 Without wood a fire goes out; without a gossip a quarrel dies down.

21 As charcoal to embers and as wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome person for kindling strife.

22 The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to the inmost parts.

Romans 16:17-19

“17 I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. 18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people. 19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.

All three areas above have consequences:

Galatians 6:7-10

“7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”

Let us receive your Blessings for how we speak and treat others, even our words, which can bring life and goodness to our lives.

Let’s Pray,

Father God in Heaven, praise and glory to You the One Who has and deserves All, Perfection and Goodness, Power and Might, Holiness and Honor, let us heed Your Words and Instruction, and be obedient to You to live as You have called us. Have Mercy and Grace upon all, forgive our sins, show Compassion and Kindness and lead us to do the same.  Convict us when we do otherwise. Don’t let us hinder our relationship with you and others based on foolish actions. Let us bless and encourage everyone, even enemies and lift them up, speak good things and edify others.  Teach us to be Wise and Righteous, to be more like the Mind of Christ.

Thank You for all things you give us.

God gives Divine Wisdom that far exceeds the wisdom of what we obtain on our own, in fact there is really no comparison.

The Bible says in Ist Corinthians 1:25 “For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.”

Which Wisdom do we seek? That which God provides I hope, but how? “Ask for Wisdom” the Bible says.

James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”

“Without finding fault”, God makes it clear that He will not judge our motives or reasons for asking (as long as they are not knowingly wrong and sinful”.  He understands “when we are weak He is strong” and we should ask His insight on situations of concern to us.

The Bible also indicates we must ask through faith and not doubting. To doubt tends to indicate we don’t trust God or that we don’t respect Him in our situation enough to believe He will do what He says.

For Christians everywhere at any time, don’t miss the goodness of what is yours for the asking and believing.

A word of care though, the proper discernment of wisdom is critical, we need to always compare what wisdom we receive to the Bible (the Word of God) to make sure the wisdom we obtain is indeed Wisdom from God. He will never give you Wisdom that conflicts with the Word of God. Always important to pray and meditate on Wisdom you receive and make sure you have indeed received it from God.

Let’s Pray:

Heavenly Father, God of the Universe, Majestic, Mighty and Awesome, full of Compassion and Kindness, forgive us for any sins and anything that might hinder our relationship with You.

Give us Divine Wisdom this day to consider all You have taught us and that You will reveal to us, to guide us and help us, in the things we do and say.

Help us to discern Your thoughts and guidance You give to us, to determine your voice from ours.

We know Your Ways are higher than ours and we trust you.

Bless us and others, and may we bless You and others, with the same forgiveness, kindness, love, and compassion you have given to us.

Let us reach out to others and encourage them in a positive way, show kindness, consideration and be a help to them.

Thank You for all things including most of all our Savior Jesus Christ.

We also ask you be a Protector and Healer to the Countries and States that have been affected by the recent storms and bring the people comfort and peace.

We pray for your blessings and abundant peace and generosity to all those in need.

In His Name,

Do we serve the Lord with gladness or because of obligation?  Do we fear the Lord, I hope so, but don’t let His Greatness and Power be the reason why. By the way, by Fear I don’t necessarily mean that you stand and tremble for concern as to what He can do to you if He desires, but reverence, respect, and realizing He is Creater and we are the created. When we realize Who God is and the things He has done, how could we not serve Him in gladness. The Lord also blesses our praise and gladness in Him.

Make A Joyful Noise:  If we are glad and excited, let us shout to Him. Shout what? How about: You are God the One and Only, Your Mercy Endures Forever, Your Grace is Sufficient, Thank You Lord for Your Greatness, You are Majestic, You are Loving, Praise Your Goodness, could be anything of praise or thanksgiving, really anything wholesome that acknowledges Him.

All Ye Lands Praise Him:   No One is excluded or left out. All are welcome to come to Him. Let people of All Nations and even the Rocks cryout to Him.

Come Before His Presence With Singing:  Let a Song or Hymn or Psalm, be in your heart and be thankful to Him for His Love for us.

Know He is God:  Remind yourself and God that He is Lord and Savior. Respect Who He is and that He is Everlasting, always worthy.

We Are His People: Says it All! How blessed we are to call Him Father and Lord, our Savior and Redeemer, the Lover of our soul.

Psalm 100:1-3

1 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing.

3 Know ye that the Lord He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.

Let’s pray:

Heavenly Kind and Gracious Father,

You are God not just our God but The One and Only God.

Thank You for Your Greatness, Grace, and Mercy.

Teach me About You, Teach me Your Word, let me grow in Your Grace.

Your Grace is Sufficient because It is everything good, mighty and powerful.

Grant us Peace and Joy with You, Family and Friends, and our enemies, let us forgive all and be kind to All.

We pray for hope, increased faith, joy, and peace in our Nation, hearts, families, and Church families, local and universally, in the workplaces, schools, colleges, and the world. Let us join in grateful hearts to thank and worship You.

Bless and give us this day strength, kindness, and compassion and the Grace and Mercy of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

May the Power and Love of the Holy Spirit guide us in truth, peace, and knowledge.

Let us come before You with gladness, thanksgiving, and praise.

God delivers us in times of distress, troubles, or peril. He may deliver us from it or in it. Either way, He is with us and brings His Strength and Grace.

Sometimes the pressures of life can be what seems beyond our ability to handle, its times as that when God Steps in and we learn to fully rely on Him who will deliver us. Let us set our hope on Him, Jesus Christ, and the Power of the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul and his companions experienced this very thing. They were delivered from distress and peril and so can we.

  • The Condition - They were under great pressure far beyond their ability to endure.
  • ...
  • The Feeling - They were despaired of life itself and felt they had received a death sentence.
  • ...
  • Why did it happen? - Perhaps many reasons, but as the scripture indicates they were to rely on God Who raised the dead (meaning if the Power of God can raise the dead then It can surely help with our problems).
  • ...
  • The Support - The Prayers of many were answered and resulted in God’s favor.
  • ...
  • The Result - They were delivered by God from their situation, a deadly peril, great distress, and by His Grace granted favor.

2 Corinthians 1:8-12

8 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about the troubles we experienced in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired of life itself. 9 Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 10 He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, 11 as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.

12 Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with integrity and godly sincerity. We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God’s Grace.

God can deliver us from our great distress too by our trust in Him and the Prayers of many. We should not rely on worldly wisdom but in God’s Grace which according to scripture the Lord said “My Grace is Sufficient”. Their conduct among their problems was Godly sincerity and integrity, so it should be ours too.

Let’s Pray,

Our Father in Heaven, you are Mighty, Awesome, Graceful and Merciful.  Your Grace is powerful in all circumstances. We first thank You for your Grace and Mercy and ask Your forgiveness for any and all our sins. We want a relationship with You that is in harmony with Your will.

As we rely on, trust and put our faith in You, deliver us from times of struggle and peril or walk with us in your strength so that we overcome, for You have overcome the world. We pray for all who need Your deliverance, even Your Great Deliverance.

Grant us this day, Hope, Peace, Security, Protection, Safety, Deliverance, and Favor. Grant us Wisdom and give us Strength and good attitudes. We ask special blessings upon us and that we glorify and honor You.

Give us Wisdom and Knowledge and reveal Yourself Heavenly Father to us each day.

In Jesus Name,

In the Power of the Holy Spirit

The Bible says that God’s mercies are new each morning. What does that really mean?

New York Timesran a article called “Googling for God.” In this writing, author Seth Stephens-Davidowitz explores trends in search data related to questions people pose about God. He finds the number one God-related question people ask on Google is, “Who created God?” Not surprisingly, number two is “Why does God allow suffering?” Most interesting and alarming was that number three was “Why does God hate me?”

Let’s be clear, God does not hate anyone and gives grace, mercy, and blessings to those who know Him as Lord and Savior.

Lamentations 3:22-23 “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning;

    great is your faithfulness.”

The Love of Jesus Never Ceases -

God’s Love is not just here today but is also here tomorrow.  His Love is Everlasting. God may hate sin but He does not hate people. The Bible is clear God hates, really hates sin a lot, any sin, He does not hate people, He forgives sins. God is Love! Why did He send Jesus, John 3:16 indicates “God So loves the world that He gave His Son to die for our sins”.

The Mercies of Jesus Never End -

His Mercies are new each morning. God knows what we need day to day, Mercy throughout the day and night, being new and fresh starting each day. God commands us to give Mercy to others as He gives Mercy. Luke 6:36 “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”

2nd Samuel 24:14 King David a man after God’s on heart said “I am in deep distress. Let us fall into the hands of the LORD, for his mercy is great; but do not let me fall into human hands.”

God’s mercy is often analogous to compassion. It sometimes means not giving us what we might deserve from doing wrong, but giving us a break and giving us His Mercy which is Greater than anything.

Let’s Pray:

Heavenly Father,

Forgive our sins and transgressions and hear our prayers offered to You the All Knowing and Caring God, our only God.

Today is full of goodness but may also have its great challenges that bring too much stress, doubt, fear, sickness, weakness, worry, and hurt, insecurities, even a feeling of hopelessness sometimes.

Our Gracious God, give us a break and show us your unfailing Faithfulness and Compassion. Take away our burdens or give us Strength to deal with them and defeat them, but our hearts desire is You handle them for us. We thank You for Your Love, Grace and Mercy in all things. Bless us this day, our family and friends and even our enemies. Give us what we need and teach us to glorify and honor You. We ask a special blessing this day because we know your mercy is new every morning. May we Lord Jesus walk in the Light with You.

In Jesus Name,

According to the scripture people cannot love God if they do not love people, especially those of the household of faith. You have probably heard it said “I love God and what He has done for me but not so much people”.  It’s understandable that some people depending on their life experiences have a harder time with trust and relationships than others, but that does not change God’s Two Greatest Commandments to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31. The scripture without additional emphasis is still the Word of God but goes further and states “There is no commandment greater than these. I will add if people have been Christians for many years, we should be responding faithfully to those commandments.

The Lord takes His Greatest Commandments very seriously, hear these Words from the scripture: I John 4:7-8 “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” Another way that might be said is “Do not be deceived, if you love God you must love people”.

If we want people to realize we are Disciples of Jesus Christ, they have to realize we care for them, otherwise we have believed in vain.

John 13:34-35 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

There were 5 professing Christians arguing in public and it got worse and became embarrassing for many, filled with anger and loudness, harsh words, and others began to observe. Those who were watching and drawn to the argument said “They are obviously not Christians or they would not be acting that way”.  A person near by, says “they are probably just having a bad day”, but another person says “unfortunately they have seen them do that for a long time, at least 5 years. That should be a warning sign to people, if we find ourselves in such a situation regularly, then it’s time for a major soul searching to make sure we are in the faith, and if we are, it’s time for repentance and apologies, and to seek God’s forgiveness, and to make a sincere effort to do better.

That hits at the core of who we are as God’s children. People can express opinions and views and even look out for themselves in controversies, but in a proper way. The Lord Jesus deserves us to be the example and show love, care, compassion, and forgiveness.

God can deal with us however He desires, but the majority of the time it is through conviction, gentleness and love, not like the five people who were setting the wrong example in public. Were those people true Christians if they act that way regularly, and if they are, will God bless such behavior, and lastly does such behavior open the door for Satan to step in and create more confusion?

I will say again, can we love God but not people; the scripture says God’s people will love and care about others.

The Lord will bring many blessings when we do our best to follow Him especially in keeping His Two Greatest Commandments.

Joshua 24:15 .. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Colossians 3:14-17

“Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.

16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. 17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.”

The question we should be asking ourselves as Christians: “Are we clothed in Christ and presenting ourselves like Him?”

It’s not just about how we see ourselves, but how others see us, and how God sees us.

Most of us believe we always look good, but do we? Do we consider the feelings of others, are we gracious, thankful, forgiving, considerate, kind?

Things to consider:

How’s our speech?

Uplifting and encouraging, hopeful, appropriate, or offensive and negative

How’s our attitude?

Do we say thank you and your welcome, I appreciate you, do we acknowledge people, do we ask how people are feeling, or do we just say nothing at all

How’s our judgement?

Humility, wise, forgiving, caring; or are we condescending, better than everyone else, do we look down on others, do we ridicule

How’s our demeanor?

Kind, considerate, welcoming; or harsh, or quick tempered, essentially saying stay away

How’s our relationship with God?

If everything else seems wrong, especially all of the above, then your relationship with God is almost certainly suffering, which means you are too; change your actions to be more loving and your relationship with Jesus will grow.

Does God seem far away?

He has not moved, He still lives inside us, joins us at Church, lives in our homes and wherever we go. Have you moved, He hasn’t.

Jesus has called us to be different from the world, He expects us through our Love for Him to grow in Christian love and maturity; if we are not growing in Christ there is no better time to start than now. The more faithful we are to Jesus Christ the more blessed we will be and the more at peace we will be within ourselves and with God, and better able to love others. How do we look in Christ?

Choose this day who you will serve and who you will be, let’s all present ourselves as Christ would have us to be.

I Peter 3:10 “For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.”

The saying “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” is dead wrong. Words do hurt. Some hurt badly.

God intended a life where people say nice things, don’t play foolish games, nor make snide remarks, not speak hurtful words, but He intended us as His people to be open, honest, polite, courteous, encouraging and uplifting and choose words wisely.

Consider the following: Which sounds better? Which is better? What would Jesus speak? What do you presently say?

I love you, or I hate you

They could be a friend, or they are no friend of mine

You look nice, or doesn’t he or she look bad

I trust you, or who can trust someone like you

I like them, or I despise them

Give them forgiveness, or they deserve hell

Give them grace, or I wouldn’t forgive them

We are all God’s creation, or your just not like me

You are kind, or your always mean

Your approachable, or I don’t want near you

Your smart, or your stupid

Your a good person, or your worthless

You make me better, or I feel bad around you

Their friendly, or their just not that friendly

Their considerate, or their rude

Their easy to get along with, or run while you can

Interesting tattoo, or that looks sinful and awful

Forgive her, or look what she’s done wrong

Nice shirt, or how ugly

Sorry your sick, or they are always sick

Sorry you feel bad, or no wonder they fill bad

They can do it, or they never will

You will go far, or they will never amount to anything

Jesus is a great man, or I can’t believe you believe in Him

My dad, or my old man

Thank you, or no response

How are you, or nothing

Can I help, or I would never help them

Yessir, or I said yes’

She will become a great person, or she’s a tramp

You can do it, or you will never learn

You can succeed, or you always fail

I want you as my friend, or who wants the likes of you

I’m here to help, or I will never help you

I appreciate her message, or that was awful

He’s an alcoholic, he’s a drunk

She has a drug problem, or she’s a druggie

That’s in the past, or I will never let it go

You may have misunderstood, or you know your wrong

The writing was thought provoking, or can you believe what she wrote

We will miss them, or I’m glad they are gone

We all make mistakes, or can you believe what they did

They need help finding work, or their lazy and useless

It’s about God, or it’s all about me

They are kind and forgiving, or they hold grudges

I believe in you, or who believes you can do anything

God Loves them, or who could love them

They have potential, or don’t give them a chance

I think we have the idea by now!

The words we say matter, how we say them matters, our motive matters, our agenda matters, you can’t take your words back, once a mental picture is made in someone’s mind, it’s in their minds photo album, it takes many sincere good words to change things, many good photos to change bad ones, good news though, God Can truly help us all to do as He would have us do. Mend relationships by the words you speak.

Proverbs 11:13

“A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret.”

Proverbs 11:17

“Those who are kind benefit themselves,

but the cruel bring ruin on themselves.”

This is the Day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it - Psalm 118:24

Each day somewhere in this world there is good and bad, strength and weakness, gladness and sadness, our day may be mixed with those, but even if our day is all good (and let’s hope for that), but when we look at the total world there is always good somewhere and bad somewhere. The point is God is in each day with us no matter what. He is everywhere all the time. In this day, may our Lord Jesus Christ give us comfort and hope and peace no matter what we face.

Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

On a positive note that can ring with gladness and goodness, there is someone somewhere celebrating a birthday. Let’s just say it is Alexis (or John, Susan, or Tim, or at Christmas the Lord), let her have peace, joy and hope, and know how much God, Family and Friends care for her. She might play the flute or read in Church, or listen to the birds chirp and watch the pets roll over and play, but God knows her, always loves her with His Love, and everywhere we go, that is something that no matter the circumstances will ever change.

On another note, that plays softer, when life hurts or we don’t know what to think or where to turn, that’s when God says I am near for I gave my Son Jesus so you can live again in Him everyday forever. There is a place far away and near, where the Son always shines Who is mild, gentle and calm, where God Himself brings light and finally shows His Love is like no other. Yes each day is when the Lord is near, May He bless every circumstance everywhere and be with you always.

The Lord bless you and keep you;

The Lord make His face shine upon you,

And be gracious to you;

The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.”

Father God in Heaven,

Give us strength, hope, peace, and comfort no matter what road we are on or where we turn.

Help us each and everyday to know You are there.

Show us and give us your Presence and Love.

Calm the storm and walk again on the sea, let us walk with you.

Let us find our hope and joy in You.

Carry us in Your Arms when it’s hard to walk and when it’s not.

In Jesus Name,
