Are we compassionate, caring, kind, gracious and merciful, giving, loving, comforting and prayerful?

An honest person told me, they were not all those things but were some of those things.

I was impressed with the candid honest and humble answer.  That’s a good start! How about me and you, what is our answer? Will we be candid and honest with ourselves?

How many of those good things does our Lord Jesus Christ want us to do? The answer is challenging and humbling. God wants us to be All those things.

The scripture says “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Galatians 6:7-10

Have we prayed for someone lately? Have we said anything to someone caring, comforting, encouraging, kind? Have we been gracious or merciful? Have we dropped someone a note or card, or called and asked how they are, how they are feeling, or just let them know you appreciate them? How about yesterday, last week, last month? Hopefully sooner than a month? God wants us to do those things.

Have you heard the song “Have I Told You Lately” by Rod Stewart, here are some of the lyrics.

Have I told you lately that I love you

Have I told you there's no one else above you

You fill my heart with gladness

Take away all my sadness

Ease my troubles, that's what you do

For the morning sun and all it's glory

Greets the day with hope and comfort, too

You fill my heart with laughter

Somehow, you make it better

Ease my troubles, that's what you do

There's a love that's divine

And it's yours and it's mine

Like the sun

And at the end of the day

We should give thanks and pray

To the one, to the one

Here is a You Tube Version if you want to listen

What’s the song in your heart? What did you do yesterday, last week, last month?
